Message from Department Chair
On behalf of the Faculty, Staff, and Students of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) it is my pleasure to welcome you to our homepage. We offer very strong programs in Civil Engineering leading to BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees. Our BS in Civil Engineering program is accredited by ABET*. We strive to maintain this honor by always focusing on developing the future; our students.
The Civil Engineering core courses are designed to provide breadth of knowledge about Civil Engineering and technical electives are designed to provide more in-depth understanding of Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural, Water Resources, and Transportation Engineering, and Surveying.
The department has approximately 250 students and 14 faculty members to facilitate their learning. We have a full-time laboratory supervisor to maintain and upgrade our laboratories and a full-time academic advisor to help students plan their course of study. Our courses are taught by full-time faculty members with assistance from graduate students. Most Civil Engineering class sizes range from 15 to 30 students, thus providing more wholesome learning experience.
We are proud of our facilities and laboratories. It would be my pleasure to give you a personalized tour of our facilities at your convenience. Please call my office to schedule a tour.
