Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Bachelor Of Science Degree in Civil Engineering

The civil engineering curriculum is designed to give the student a foundation in the basic principles used in the practice of civil engineering through required courses in environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic and water resources engineering, structural engineering and surveying. Technical electives are offered in these areas as well as transportation engineering. The Civil Engineering program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree at SIUC is fully accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. The following curricular guide is provided as a general overview of a typical four-year program of study for the Civil Engineering Degree.
