Welcome to the ASCE Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe Conventions page. Each year at the end of the year, ASCE holds both a regional and national competition for the bridge and canoe. Categories for the bridge are stiffness, lightness, construction speed, aesthetics, efficiency, and economy. For the canoe, categories are design, construction, written presentation, oral presentation, display and racing ability.
Placing in the top two overall allows a team to move on to the national competition. Below you'll find a listing of some recent competitions attended and what awards SIUC's Bridge Team and Canoe Team have won at these conventions.
